Pre-School Service

ECCE Scheme & Non ECCE
Pre-school at Daddy Daycare begins at 9am and finishes at 1pm Monday to Friday for children aged 2 years and 9 months plus. Each day starts with “free-play” where children can play with farm toys, dolls & prams, jigsaws, building bricks, cars & trucks, pots & pans and colouring books. A schedule of events each day include activities to develop children’s fine and gross motor skills such as scissor and bead work, sand and water play, cycling bikes on Daddy Daycare’s traffic school, skipping or learning how to spin a hula-hoop. Weekly the children bake cakes or scones.

Daddy Daycare’s practice is underpinned by Siolta 2006 & Aistear 2009. Síolta, the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education, was developed by the Centre for Early Childhood Development and Education on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills.Siolta consists of 12 Principles and 16 Standards core to the care and practice at Daddy Daycare. Aistear 2009 is Ireland’s Pre-School Early Years curriculum. This curriculum consists of 4 broad themes; Wellbeing, Identity & Belonging, Communication and Exploring & Thinking. Daddy Daycare curriculum is designed at developing competent and confident early years learners. Daddy Daycare’s management and staff are fully trained in Siolta & Aistear.

ECCE Scheme
A fee applies per child per morning for Non ECCE Scheme children. Daddy Daycare takes part in the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE). This scheme is funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA). The scheme strictly finances 3 hours per day on a pro-rata basis; which means a child can avail of 5 days a week from September to June each year. This fee does not include any additional services such as lunch, refreshments, weekly fruit, birthday celebrations, Easter and Christmas celebrations.

Daddy Daycare operates its Pre-school facility from 9.00am to 1pm daily which equates 4 hours per day. The additional half hour is charged at a weekly rate.

Non ECCE Scheme
A fee of €20 per child per morning applies. A minimum booking of two days per week per child is required. Earlier drop off and later pick-ups can be catered for.
